If you're thinking about 25B, here's the deal: your day-to-day will depend entirely on your unit. I went from resetting passwords at a FORSCOM unit to managing a classified network at a SOF unit — completely different jobs under the same MOS. The certs you get (Sec+, CCNA) are legit and translate directly to the civilian world. Just don't expect to do anything cutting-edge unless you hustle for a good assignment. Get your certs, stack your clearance, and you'll walk into a six-figure contractor gig.
